Man who sold the world his vision – New David Bowie Museum Exhibit

BEFORE Davie Jones was famous he was a saxophonist, a blues singer and, briefly, a mime artist.

Then he changed his name to David Bowie, scored a breakthrough hit with Space Oddity in the year of the first manned moon landing and spent the 1970s becoming a global star dressed as an alien, a schizophrenic and an elegant aristocrat.

Hopping musical genres all the time, his other incarnations have included film star, Iggy Pop’s keyboard player, fashion object, painter, children’s story teller and, most recently, virtual recluse.

This month, details of Bowie’s latest mutation were revealed: the man who sang Rebel, Rebel has become a museum piece.
